Fota Island Adventure
All of our activities are designed for families or couples. Groups are just more fun. Within our 22 acres of woodland, we create the ultimate outdoor escapade, complemented by an inspiring one-acre log cabin village. “Family Fun” plunges you deep into the forest, where you’ll build shelters, light fires, cook marshmallows, find the snipers (your kids), and brave the obstacle course. “Cabin Fever” challenges you to break into an escape cabin, solve puzzles, clues, and riddles to claim your treasure. Kayaking takes you along the Slatty Flats, while “Adventure Quest” offers an exhilarating family treasure hunt across the resort grounds. There really is something for everyone.

Terry was an excellent guide, first we did a little Survival training where we built our own shelter, fire, and as a reward received a pack of marshmallows. Then we did Archery, Spot the Sniper, and the teens were brave enough to do the whole Obstacle Course even though it was raining. Which, to be honest, added to the fun atmosphere. Highly recommend to families or groups of friends who want to show off their nature skills. Oh, and when they say change of clothes is necessary, it is no joke!”
Great family activity!John“We took our four kids aged 6, 8, 9 and 10 to complete the family adventure and they loved it. Our leader Aaron was brilliant with my anxious 8 year old whom didn’t want to do the activity in the first place. He found him a ‘special job’ of helping hide the others in their camouflage gear. It wasn’t long before the said child was off looking for sticks for the campfire. Our other leader Harry was very patient despite being bombarded with lots of questions. The kids loved the den building too. I would highly recommend this as a great family bonding activity. Thanks Aaron and Harry!”

Please wear old clothes and bring a change of clothes in case you have incidental contact with mud and the great outdoors in general.
Footwear (runners you don’t mind getting wet) Cool or rainy: Light fleece, thermal top, woolly hat Warm: Sun hat, sun glasses (string attached), sun screen

Your typical 2 hour long adventure includes survival/bushcraft, find the sniper and the obstacle course. All three activities are tailor made to suit family members of all ages.
Survival skills will bond the family together as they build a shelter, light a fire and cook some marshmallows.
Find the Sniper has your kids dressed up in Ghillie Suits and hidden in the forest. Your job is to find them (the giggling normally gives away their location).
For older kids we swap out this activity to target archery.
Finally you get to have a go on our world famous obstacle course.
We can only offer the family fun adventure to 5 families/units/pods per session. All 5 pods will be socially distancing from each other at all times.
Afternoon fun runs from 2pm – 4pm, Monday – Sunday.
Facilities are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, please avail of them at every opportunity. Please arrive 5 minutes before the start time, in your active clothes and ready to go.
Be sure to bring your camera/phone as it is ideal family album.
